The impact you'll make

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.

What you'll do

• Lead the release and qualification of new chemicals based on customer requirements, ensuring alignment with design, safety, and process standards, with a strong emphasis on project management.
• Evaluate and establish hardware operating limits related to chemical properties, including viscosity, concentration, temperature, and other relevant parameters.
• Assess and verify the chemical resistance and compatibility of new and existing components when exposed to specified chemicals.
• Analyze and consolidate technical data into trade-off studies and material selection matrices to support design and redesign decisions, including associated risk assessments.
• Drive concept development and feasibility projects, providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.

Who we're looking for

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related field with 3+ years of experience; or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years; or equivalent experience.
• Academic background with a strong focus on project management, polymer and plastic materials, and laboratory-based research or testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in laboratory testing, chemical analysis, or a related technical environment.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Solid technical aptitude with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry is highly desirable.

What We're Offering

This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry (https://www.metalltechnischeindustrie.at/fileadmin/content/Dokumente/Kollektivvertrag/KV-2025_2026/FMTI_Mindesgehaltstabelle_2025.pdf) in occupation group F.
